Rama from Melbourne landed a Solution Architect role in Nashville on an E-3 Visa
At Aussie Recruit we’re always excited to share the success stories of fellow Australians landing jobs in the US! Today we’re excited to share Rama’s story!
First let’s talk a bit about Rama and what sparked his interest in moving to the US.
For Rama it’s all about family. “My sister is a naturalized American. For a year, she and I were playing tug of war with our Mum in the middle. Trying to pull her to either continent. As you can tell, my sister won.”
Rama continues to share that “we all have the one life and family is the biggest asset anybody can have. Hence, I'm making this move.”
How did you stay motivated during your US job search?
Rama shared that the standard responses you'd find on the internet are
1. Stay persistent and 2. Keep applying
But he adds that traveling to the US and meeting people face to face shows them you're serious about moving and working in the US. “It shows commitment” says Rama. Rather than being some presence on the internet.
He talked about how disappointment and delays are part of the game. Lastly, Rama stayed motivated by exercising regularly and constantly upgrading his skills. Exercising helps you to stay positive.
Rama expressed gratitude to Aussie Recruit:
“The videos and instagram posts from Amy (the founder of Aussie Recruit) contained very useful information. Keep it up!”
Last but not least, we asked Rama...
What do you think you'll miss most about Australia?
“The ease, simplicity and stability in life. But I'm trading all of these for my family. That trumps everything else.”
